Human Nature in Art form

This painting can symbolize the confusing nature of women. Mona Lisa may have been a courtesan but the other message Da Vinci was trying to get across was that a woman without a legitimate man at her side is incomplete or unbalanced that she cannot be complete without a man. She is nothing without a man in her life. Something that still puzzles the viewers of this painting is her slight mysterious smile and the different columns in the background of the painting.
